The Parents’ Association

Congratulations! As a parent / guardian of a pupil in Old Bawn Community School you are automatically a member of the Parents’ Association.

The people currently involved in the running of the association would be delighted to welcome all new members to bring new ideas and experience to an already active group of people working together for the best possible education for their children.

The Parent Association works with the Principal, Staff and the Board of Management to build effective partnership between home and school. It has been shown that the better the quality of the relationship between home and school, the more likely children are to do well and be happy, and similarly, teachers can do a better job when they are supported by and work closely with parents.

The Parents’ Association meet once a month at in Old Bawn Community School. The meeting generally last one hour.

There are many opportunities to volunteer in simple yet valuable ways. Parent involvement from the beginning will help make new friends, become familiar with the OBCS faculty and administration, gain a deeper understanding of the school’s educational goals, and have a clearer picture of your child’s experience.
