The debate team won last night against The High School Rathgar.
The motion was “Individuals serious about climate change must give up eating meat.” We were the proposition. The team consisted of Heather Jones (captain), Dmytro Kosynskyy, Scott McEvoy and Susan Carroll. Other members of the team, Darren Grants and Sarah Kelly were timekeeper and chairperson.
Many parents and students came to support.
The students were fantastic and really did the school proud. The High School were excellent and really put us through our paces! Our next debate in the competition is against Mount Anville later this month.
The Junior Debate team are competing in UCD in a different competition on Thursday. We have three teams up against various schools for their first competition.
