Parent Association

Parents’ Association at Old Bawn Community School

At Old Bawn Community School, we believe that education is most powerful when it is a shared journey between school and home. Our Parents’ Association plays a vital role in this partnership, offering a strong, supportive voice for parents and guardians while actively contributing to the life of the school.

The Parents’ Association is a dynamic and inclusive group that meets regularly to discuss school policies, support student initiatives, and foster a sense of community among families. From reviewing key documents like the Admissions Policy to helping shape the school’s strategic direction, the association ensures that parents are meaningfully involved in school life.

Supporting Students, Building Community

One of the standout contributions of the Parents’ Association is its commitment to student development through initiatives like the annual Language and Sport Scholarships. These scholarships, funded by the association, provide financial support to students attending Irish colleges or sports camps, helping them pursue their passions beyond the classroom.

Annual General Meetings (AGMs) are held each October, offering all parents the opportunity to get involved, share ideas, and elect representatives to the Board of Management. These meetings are a cornerstone of our commitment to transparency, collaboration, and community spirit.

Whether it’s supporting school events, fundraising for student opportunities, or simply being a listening ear, the Parents’ Association is a cornerstone of our school’s ethos of care, respect, and partnership.
