Old Bawn Community School
Use of Mobile Phones by Students: Policy Review
Old Bawn Community School is currently reviewing the way we allow students to use mobile phones while at school. OBCS recognises the value technology has in education and role smart phones could play in providing students with immediate access to online educational tools while in the classroom and at home. We also acknowledge, however, the need to encourage students develop their social skills, engage with their peers and develop friendships by minimising the amount of screen time students are exposed to. To ensure we strike the right balance between maximising the use of technology for educational purposes while still ensuring that students learn how to communicate socially with each other without the use of screens, we would very much like your input as parents and guardians.
